Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Specify and procure new laser welding equipment and related peripherals.
• Provide technical expertise and training to production personnel on laser welding techniques.
• Establish and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and control plans.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Materials Science, Mechanical, Welding) or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weldability of various alloys.
• Proficiency in programming and operating industrial laser welding systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize laser welding parameters for quality and efficiency.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced laser welding techniques (e.g., remote welding, wobble welding).
• Familiarity with in-situ process monitoring and control systems for laser welding.
• Knowledge of metallography and failure analysis techniques relevant to laser welded joints.
• Proficiency in programming and operating robotic systems for automated laser welding.
