HR Generalist | Portage, MI

Salary Range: $54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Portage that are seeking skilled HR Generalists. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs and act as a liaison with providers.
  • Manage the full recruitment life cycle for hourly and salaried manufacturing roles.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and provide conflict resolution support.
  • Develop and deliver HR training programs, including new hire orientation.
  • Process payroll and maintain accurate HRIS records for all manufacturing employees.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
  • Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
