Salary Range: $47,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Document inspection results accurately in quality management systems or designated records.
  • Identify, segregate, and label non-conforming materials according to established procedures.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected materials and communicate findings to relevant departments.
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and tools according to schedule.
  • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and production to resolve material quality issues.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Familiarity with quality inspection standards, sampling plans, and non-conformance processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection and documentation.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and quality management software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems for material tracking and disposition.
  • Proficiency with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators) and associated software.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Basic understanding of calibration principles for inspection tools.
