Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate laser welding processes for new and existing products.
- Program, set up, and troubleshoot laser welding equipment, including robots and vision systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for laser weld defects and implement effective corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of components.
- Establish and maintain process control parameters, work instructions, and comprehensive documentation for laser welding operations.
- Perform metallurgical analysis and mechanical testing of weld joints to assess quality and integrity.
- Provide technical expertise and support to production for complex laser welding issues and continuous improvement initiatives.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in laser welding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with industrial laser welding technologies (e.g., fiber, Nd:YAG, CO2) and associated equipment.
- Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, material science, and common weld defects for various alloys.
- Proficiency in applying statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Experience with CAD software and the design of welding fixtures and tooling.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with advanced metallurgical analysis and characterization techniques for laser welds.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for laser system programming and fixture design.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for process optimization.
- Experience integrating laser welding with robotic or automated manufacturing cells.
