Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee and manage welding operations, ensuring efficient production and adherence to safety regulations.
- Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications.
- Conduct root cause analysis of welding defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and new welding technologies.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for weldability.
- Monitor welding performance metrics, analyze data, and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Qualify welders and welding procedures according to relevant codes and standards.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS) and performance qualifications (PQR).
- Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, SAW) and their applications in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, material properties, and their behavior during welding.
- Experience with welding-related quality control, inspection techniques, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
Bonus Qualifications
- - Experience with automated welding processes (e.g., robotic, laser, TIG/MIG automation).
- - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for weld joint design and simulation.
- - Knowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies related to metals.
- - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to welding operations.
- - Certification in advanced NDT methods (e.g., ASNT Level III).
