Quality Technician | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process, final, and first article inspections of manufactured products to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Conduct various quality tests using precision measuring instruments and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM.
• Document inspection results, test data, and non-conformances accurately in quality management systems.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate containment and disposition procedures.
• Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain, verify, and calibrate inspection and test equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
• Collaborate with production personnel to address quality concerns and provide guidance on quality standards.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance or inspection role.
• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and interpreting technical drawings.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and basic statistical process control (SPC).
• Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy, including experience with MS Office Suite for data entry and reporting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
• Experience with CMM programming and operation.
• ASQ certification (e.g., CQT, CQI).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Internal audit experience (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
