Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate new suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to optimize stock.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, and invoicing discrepancies.
• Analyze market trends and material costs to inform purchasing strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal departments.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, sourcing raw materials, components, or MRO supplies.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for procurement, order management, and inventory control.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation and vendor management skills to secure favorable terms and build lasting relationships.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, or engineering drawings for manufactured parts.
• Solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management best practices.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with international sourcing and logistics.
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for spend analysis.
• Project management experience, particularly in new product introduction (NPI) or supplier transitions.
