Salary Range: $69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products, components, or systems from concept to production, adhering to specifications and industry standards.
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Conduct engineering analysis, including FEA, stress calculations, and tolerance stack-ups, to ensure design integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and assembly efficiency.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements, cost, and performance criteria.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities, analyzing results and implementing design improvements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Bills of of Material (BOMs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
• Investigate and resolve design-related issues, implementing corrective actions and contributing to continuous product improvement.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related engineering field.
• Proven proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for 3D modeling and technical drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Knowledge of material properties and selection for optimal product performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and design validation in a production environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex design challenges.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD) for design validation.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or assembly processes.
• Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Windchill) for design data management.
• Certification or proven experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
