Salary Range: $54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and verification of measurement equipment and tools.
  • Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and products.
  • Operate and program advanced metrology equipment, such as CMMs and optical comparators.
  • Analyze measurement data and generate comprehensive inspection reports.
  • Maintain metrology lab equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
  • Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and assist in root cause analysis.
  • Ensure all measurement activities comply with industry standards and quality procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating and programming various metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with calibration processes and maintaining measurement traceability.
  • Knowledge of measurement uncertainty principles and practices.
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Metrology, Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering Technology) or equivalent experience.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CMM programming languages (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process control
  • Ability to design or assist in the fabrication of custom inspection fixtures
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 accreditation standards for calibration laboratories
  • Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of metrology equipment
