Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Oversee welding operations, troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications.
• Conduct welding training and qualification for welders and technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis for welding defects and implement preventative measures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize product design for manufacturability through welding.
• Evaluate and recommend new welding technologies and techniques to improve efficiency and quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in welding process selection, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW) and their applications.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, filler metals, and heat treatment processes.
• Experience with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API) and their implementation.
• Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation of results.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with robotic welding systems and automation integration.
• - Familiarity with advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods like ultrasonic or phased array.
• - Certification in specific welding processes beyond basic qualifications (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector - CWI).
