HR Generalist | Jenison, MI

Salary Range: $62,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Jenison that are seeking skilled HR Generalists. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company regulations.
  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding process for hourly and salaried positions, from job posting to new hire orientation.
  • Support employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data, generating reports as needed for management.
  • Coordinate and deliver HR programs such as performance management, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Process payroll and benefits administration, serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims and safety program administration.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with employees at all levels.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.

Bonus Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze HR metrics and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies
