Salary Range: $55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Allegan that are seeking Estimators. Key Responsibilities

• Prepares detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Analyzes blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Collaborates with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather necessary information for quoting.
• Solicits and evaluates quotes from external suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Identifies and quantifies cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
• Presents estimates and proposals to management and clients, explaining cost breakdowns and methodologies.
• Maintains and updates a database of cost information for various components and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costs.
• Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for data extraction and analysis.
• Certification in a relevant field (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator - CPE, Project Management Professional - PMP).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application in cost reduction.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., VBA, Power Query) for complex data manipulation and model building.
