Incoming Inspection Technician | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Walker that are seeking skilled Incoming Inspection Technicians. Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials and components against specifications and drawings.
• Document inspection results accurately in the quality management system, including non-conformances.
• Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
• Isolate and tag non-conforming materials, initiating the non-conformance reporting process.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve material discrepancies and improve supplier quality.
• Maintain inspection equipment through regular calibration checks and preventative maintenance.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper inspection criteria are applied.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in quality control or incoming inspection within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications (GD&T preferred).
• Experience using various measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
