Salary Range: $69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing to define packaging requirements and specifications.
• Optimize packaging designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, sustainability, and product protection.
• Conduct packaging material selection, testing, and qualification processes.
• Develop and maintain packaging specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues during production and supply chain.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in packaging materials, technologies, and regulations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in packaging engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for packaging design and development.
• Strong understanding of various packaging materials, their properties, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with packaging testing methodologies and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISTA, ASTM).
• Experience with supply chain processes and vendor management related to packaging components.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
• Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practices
• Project management experience, including managing timelines and budgets
• Experience with automation and robotics in packaging processes
