Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Hudsonville that are seeking skilled Laser Weld Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot laser welding equipment and process issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Conduct material characterization and mechanical testing of laser welded joints.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and specifications.
• Train production personnel on laser welding techniques and safety procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Materials Science, Mechanical, Welding) or related technical field.
• 3+ years experience with industrial laser welding processes, including fiber, CO2, and Nd:YAG lasers.
• Proficient in fixture design, part presentation, and automation for laser welding applications.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weld defect analysis for various metals.
• Experience with process development, optimization, and validation in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and welding specifications.
