Salary Range: $84,000 - $129,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement firmware for manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug embedded systems during production and field use.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate new sensors and actuators.
• Develop and execute test plans for embedded software and hardware.
• Optimize existing embedded systems for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing and field service teams.
• Document design specifications, test procedures, and maintenance guides.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, PIC, AVR) and their peripherals (e.g., ADC, DAC, SPI, I2C, UART).
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
• Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to design robust embedded systems for production environments.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, PROFINET, Modbus TCP).
• Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849).
• Proficiency in real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for embedded systems in an industrial context.
• Experience with vision systems or robotics integration.
