EHS Manager | Charlotte, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Charlotte that are seeking skilled EHS Managers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to reduce recurrence.
  • Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, disposal, and documentation.
  • Provide EHS training to employees on various topics such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and emergency response.
  • Oversee the facility's emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into new projects and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Sphera).
