Salary Range: $58,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines.
  • Create and interpret G-code and M-code to control machine operations and tool paths.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for optimal performance.
  • Perform simulations and dry runs to verify program accuracy and prevent collisions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and machinists to troubleshoot issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and update existing CNC programs to reflect design changes or process improvements.
  • Document programming procedures, tooling requirements, and setup instructions.
  • Ensure all programming activities comply with safety standards and quality control procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in CNC Mill programming for manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming, with ability to hand-edit programs.
  • Expertise in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
  • Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, and machining processes for various materials.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
  • Experience with machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., advanced toolpath optimization, simulation).
  • Proficiency in a second CNC programming language or control system (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs for improved efficiency or quality.
  • Familiarity with GD&T principles and their application in manufacturing.
