EHS Manager | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Traverse City that are seeking EHS Managers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of preventive measures.
• Manage and maintain all EHS-related documentation, permits, and reporting requirements.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Oversee the management of hazardous waste and other environmental programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into all operational processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• 5+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is a plus.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in EHS management software (e.g., Intelex, Gensuite, Sphera).
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• Bilingual in Spanish or another relevant language for the manufacturing workforce.
