Engineering Manager | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $117,000 - $166,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and technical specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing lean manufacturing principles and advanced engineering techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and internal quality management systems.
  • Develop and manage the engineering department budget, including resource allocation and capital expenditure planning.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control systems.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from conception to completion.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their application in manufacturing.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., supply chain, quality, sales).
