Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Portage seeking CNC Swiss Lathe Operators who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
• Perform in-process inspections using various metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators).
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
• Adjust machine offsets, tooling, and programs to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine alarms, minor malfunctions, and tooling issues.
• Load raw material stock and unload finished parts, ensuring proper handling and organization.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years experience operating CNC Swiss-style lathes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
• Demonstrated ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and basic machine adjustments.
• Experience with quality inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
• Strong understanding of various metals and cutting tools.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret complex GD&T drawings
• Experience with in-process gauging and quality control systems
• Knowledge of various material properties and their impact on machining processes
