HR Generalist | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Whitehall that are seeking skilled HR Generalists. Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for a diverse range of manufacturing roles, including production, technical, and administrative staff.
• Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and grievances.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as manufacturing-specific regulations (e.g., OSHA).
• Administer and support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development plans for plant personnel.
• Coordinate and deliver HR-related training programs, including new hire orientation, safety training, and leadership development.
• Maintain accurate HR records and manage HRIS data, generating reports as needed for workforce analysis and compliance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, and a positive plant culture.

Recommended Qualifications

• Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance regulations.
• Proven experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain talent for diverse roles in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and HR data management.
• Knowledge of manufacturing-specific challenges, such as shift work, safety protocols, and production demands.

Bonus Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
• Experience with HRIS optimization or implementation
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
• Prior experience in a unionized environment
• OSHA 10/30 certification or strong safety program involvement
