NPI Engineer | St. Johns, MI

Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the successful transfer of new products from design to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for manufacturability and testability.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, including tooling, fixtures, and assembly instructions.
  • Conduct process validation activities (e.g., IQ, OQ, PQ) to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues during pilot production and initial ramp-up phases.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes and product design.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to interpret and create technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including PCBA assembly, test, and final product integration.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, SolidWorks) for design review and analysis.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving manufacturing issues during product ramp-up.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems for managing engineering data.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python) for data analysis or automation.
