Field Service Technician | Otsego, MI

Salary Range: $52,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery.
• Conduct emergency repairs and unscheduled maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Install and commission new manufacturing equipment according to specifications.
• Calibrate and adjust machinery settings for optimal performance and product quality.
• Document all service activities, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
• Provide technical support and training to production operators on equipment operation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electronics, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery.
• Proven ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently to customer sites.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking work orders and asset history.
• Certifications in specialized areas such as robotics, PLC programming, or specific machinery (e.g., FANUC, Siemens).
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using CAD software.
• Experience with augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) tools for remote assistance or training.
