IATF Quality Engineer | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Whitehall seeking IATF Quality Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain IATF 16949 compliant quality management systems.
  • Lead and participate in internal and external IATF 16949 audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using core tools like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Facilitate problem-solving activities using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys) for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product development and launch activities to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the PPAP submission and approval process for new and changed parts.
  • Conduct supplier quality assessments and development activities to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 standards and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Proven experience with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CSSGB) are highly preferred.
