Incoming Inspection Technician | Coopersville, MI
Salary Range: $43,000 - $66,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Document inspection results accurately and completely, including acceptance, rejection, and non-conformance details, in the designated quality management system.
- Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected materials, ensuring proper containment, identification, and communication to relevant departments.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and supplier quality teams to resolve material discrepancies and improve supplier quality performance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to incoming inspection processes, tools, and documentation.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with various measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
- IPC-A-610 certification or experience
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T symbols
