Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Holt seeking Laser Weld Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser welding fixtures and tooling.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Conduct material characterization and mechanical testing of laser welded joints.
• Specify and procure laser welding equipment and related accessories.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Welding, or equivalent)
• 3+ years experience in laser welding processes and applications in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in laser welding equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of material science, metallurgy, and weld joint design
• Experience with process optimization, statistical process control (SPC), and data analysis
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced laser technologies (e.g., ultrafast lasers, fiber lasers beyond standard CW/pulsed).
• Familiarity with in-situ process monitoring and control systems for welding (e.g., thermal cameras, spectroscopy).
• Proficiency in scripting or programming for automation and data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
• Knowledge of metrology techniques for weld characterization (e.g., CT scanning, advanced microscopy).
• Background in materials science with a focus on metallurgy of dissimilar materials or advanced alloys.
