Lean Manufacturing Engineer | Hart, MI
Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and data to identify areas for waste reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Implement and sustain Lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, SMED, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Develop and deliver training programs on Lean principles and tools to manufacturing teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and achieve production targets.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Lean improvements.
- Support the design and implementation of new production lines and equipment with Lean principles in mind.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience implementing Lean methodologies (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen) in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects resulting in measurable improvements (e.g., cost reduction, efficiency gains).
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, SPC).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems.
Bonus Qualifications
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim)
- Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, advanced robotics)
