Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Allegan that are seeking Quality Inspectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective action procedures as required.
  • Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks to ensure adherence to engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for defects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Verify calibration status of inspection equipment and ensure proper functioning.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred
  • 2+ years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Strong understanding and practical application of various measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality control methodologies (e.g., SPC)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills

Bonus Qualifications

  • ASQ Certifications (e.g., CQI, CQT)
  • Experience with metrology equipment calibration
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with various NDT methods (e.g., UT, PT, MT)
