Shipping & Receiving Clerk | Allegan, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process all outbound shipments, including labeling, packaging, and loading.
• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and system updates.
• Coordinate with production, quality control, and purchasing departments to ensure timely material flow.
• Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving areas for cleanliness and efficiency.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years experience in shipping/receiving within a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
• Experience with inventory management software and ERP systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for inventory management.
• Forklift certification (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
• Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shipping regulations (e.g., DOT, IATA).
• Proficiency in using barcode scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Basic mechanical aptitude for minor equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
