Staff Accountant | Muskegon, MI

Salary Range: $62,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Muskegon region seeking Staff Accountants. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and various balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close, including accruals and reclassifications.
• Assist with inventory valuation and reconciliation, performing cycle counts and investigating discrepancies.
• Analyze production costs and variances, providing insights to management on cost control.
• Support the annual audit process by preparing requested documentation and schedules.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Prepare various financial reports and analyses to support operational decision-making.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel
• Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with inventory costing and analysis
