Supplier Quality Engineer | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Whitehall seeking Supplier Quality Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality improvement programs.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues and non-conformances.
• Collaborate with sourcing and engineering to define supplier quality requirements for new products.
• Monitor and report on key supplier quality performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce defects and improve on-time delivery.
• Manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and support supplier selection processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in supplier quality or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
• Demonstrated experience performing supplier audits and driving corrective actions.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced quality planning (AQP) tools such as PPAP, APQP, and FMEA.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant professional certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior quality engineers or technicians.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process capability studies and data interpretation.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
