Salary Range: $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Otsego that are seeking skilled Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
• Creates detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies.
• Performs engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
• Collaborates with production teams to identify and implement design improvements for manufacturability.
• Develops and maintains design specifications and documentation.
• Participates in root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for design-related issues.
• Selects appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal product performance and cost.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Demonstrated experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, sheet metal fabrication).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar data management systems.
• Familiarity with GD&T and its application in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to perform basic FEA simulations to validate designs.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing).
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
