Advanced Quality Engineer | Allegan, MI
Salary Range: $86,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced quality control plans and inspection methodologies.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action initiatives for complex quality issues.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, scrap, and rework.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct supplier quality audits and work with suppliers to improve incoming material quality.
- Mentor and train junior quality engineers on advanced quality techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
- Participate in design reviews and FMEAs to identify and mitigate potential quality risks.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and industry-standard quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, 8D).
- Proven ability to lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Certification in quality (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is highly preferred.
Bonus Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
- Experience with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for data analysis and process improvement.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior quality engineers.
- Familiarity with advanced metrology and inspection techniques.
