Salary Range: $61,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and production to define material specifications and requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies to ensure on-time material availability.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supplier capabilities to mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects with suppliers.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a procurement or buying role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on material requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Experience with an ERP system implementation or upgrade
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish or Mandarin
