EHS Manager | Allegan, MI

Salary Range: $86,000 - $131,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Allegan that are seeking EHS Managers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of preventative measures for all EHS-related incidents.
  • Manage hazardous waste programs, including waste minimization, proper storage, and disposal.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Oversee the management of industrial hygiene programs, including air monitoring and noise assessments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate EHS considerations into new projects and process changes.
  • Maintain and update EHS recordkeeping and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing EHS programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
  • Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Enablon).
  • Bilingual in Spanish or other relevant languages for the workforce.
