Engineering Manager | Hart, MI

Salary Range: $119,000 - $168,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring project success.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies within the engineering department.
  • Develop and manage the engineering department budget, optimizing resource allocation and controlling costs.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with a specific CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
  • Prior experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace).
  • Strong understanding of data analytics and visualization tools.
