Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional inspections of first article components using precision measuring instruments.
• Verify material certifications, special processes, and finish requirements against engineering specifications.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to ensure product conformity.
• Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) accurately and thoroughly, adhering to industry standards like AS9102.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances found during inspection, initiating corrective actions as needed.
• Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced inspection equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve discrepancies and improve manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection, with a focus on First Article Inspection in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in the use of a wide range of precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs.
• Expert ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, with a strong practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proven experience generating, reviewing, and approving First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), specifically adhering to AS9102 or equivalent industry standards.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) principles and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).

Bonus Qualifications

• CMM Programming experience (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
• Relevant ASQ certification (e.g., CQI, CQA)
• Proficiency with CAD software for model interpretation and analysis
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., laser trackers, structured light scanners)
