Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models.
• Perform precise dimensional inspections using CMM, calipers, micrometers, and other metrology tools.
• Verify material and process certifications against specified requirements.
• Generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) following industry standards (e.g., AS9102).
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances and potential quality issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve inspection discrepancies.
• Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated expertise in using a wide range of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs.
• Proven experience in preparing and completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 standards.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate and thorough inspection results.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on part quality.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
• Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD) and 3D CAD software for inspection validation
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools
• ASQ Certification (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Mechanical Inspector)
• Experience conducting Gage R&R studies or managing calibration activities
