Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize welding processes to ensure product quality and efficiency.
• Develop and implement welding procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
• Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques for specific applications.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety, and new technologies.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability of manufactured parts.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage welding consumables inventory and procurement.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS) and qualifications (PQR).
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW) and their applications in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with metallurgy, material properties, and their impact on weld integrity.
• Experience with welding-related software, such as CAD, simulation tools, and quality control systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced automation and robotic welding systems
• - Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation
• - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application to welding processes
• - Proven ability to optimize welding parameters for improved efficiency and reduced defects
• - Experience with welding metallurgy and material science relevant to exotic alloys
