Manufacturing Engineer | Wayland, MI
Salary Range: $69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Wayland seeking Manufacturing Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Implement and maintain production equipment, tooling, and fixtures to ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing defects and process deviations.
- Develop and execute process validation protocols to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition new products from design to full-scale production.
- Improve manufacturing yields, reduce scrap, and optimize cycle times through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process specifications.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on process improvement and optimization.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, with demonstrated experience in their application.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, automation, and quality control.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and analyzing manufacturing layouts and tooling.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Familiarity with robotics and automation systems.
- Experience with data analysis tools and statistical process control (SPC).
