Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Mattawan that are seeking Fabrication Leads. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of fabricators, fostering skill development and adherence to safety protocols.
• Oversee the fabrication process from blueprint to finished product, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide fabrication activities.
• Manage material inventory, order necessary supplies, and optimize material usage to minimize waste.
• Operate and maintain various fabrication equipment, including welders, grinders, and cutting tools.
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure products meet design specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize fabrication workflows.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Demonstrated expertise in various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, STICK) and fabrication techniques (e.g., cutting, forming, grinding).
• Strong understanding of quality control procedures and safety protocols within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Background in welding inspection (CWI certification a plus).
• Proficiency in using ERP systems for production planning.
• Prior experience mentoring or training junior fabricators.
