Salary Range: $56,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Traverse City that are seeking Estimators. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate cost estimates for new and existing manufacturing projects.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather necessary information for bids.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals to management and clients.
• Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with project estimates.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in custom fabrication or project-based manufacturing.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (e.g., GD&T).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately assess material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and estimating software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with sales, engineering, and production teams.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Certification in estimating (e.g., ASPE, AACE)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor)
• Project management experience
