Salary Range: $83,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Newaygo that are seeking skilled Materials Managers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement materials management strategies.
• Oversee inventory control, ensuring optimal stock levels.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Lead and mentor the materials team.
• Optimize material flow and logistics within the manufacturing process.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for materials processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field (e.g., Engineering, Materials Science).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in materials management, production planning, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex) for demand forecasting, production scheduling, and inventory optimization.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, just-in-time (JIT) methodologies, and their application to materials flow.
• Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality materials.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for materials management.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and optimize inventory control systems.
• Certifications such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management).
• Experience with global supply chain management and international logistics.
