Salary Range: $79,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Walker that are seeking skilled IATF Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Manages and maintains the IATF 16949 Quality Management System, including documentation and internal audits.
  • Leads problem-solving activities using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys) to address customer complaints and internal non-conformances.
  • Develops and implements APQP deliverables such as PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and MSA.
  • Conducts process audits to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and internal standards.
  • Analyzes quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams on new product introduction and process changes to ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Provides training and guidance on IATF 16949 requirements and quality tools to manufacturing personnel.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred) or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 standards and their practical application.
  • Proficient in core quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead problem-solving initiatives using methodologies like 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with AIAG core tools beyond APQP (e.g., MSA, SPC, FMEA, PPAP).
  • Black Belt or Green Belt Six Sigma certification.
  • Familiarity with other quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) or industry-specific standards.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and their application in quality improvement.
