Incoming Inspection Technician | Grand Haven, MI

Salary Range: $42,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against specifications and blueprints.
• Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators, to verify product conformance.
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly in the designated quality management system or logbooks.
• Identify and tag non-conforming materials, initiating the appropriate disposition process and communication to relevant departments.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve material discrepancies and improve incoming quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area, adhering to all company safety protocols.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing quality role
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience with various inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM operation and/or programming.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, welding).
• ASQ certifications (e.g., CQI, CQT).
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
• Proficiency in using statistical software for data analysis.
