Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot laser welding equipment and process issues.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability.
• Conduct material characterization and failure analysis related to laser welds.
• Establish and maintain welding specifications and quality control procedures.
• Provide technical training and support to production personnel.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of laser welding equipment, principles, and metallurgy.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and welding symbols.
• Experience with process development, optimization, and troubleshooting of laser welding applications.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotic automation and programming (e.g., ABB, Fanuc).
• Knowledge of metallography and material characterization techniques.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
