Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Fremont that are seeking skilled Payroll Specialists. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Process multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Reconcile payroll data and general ledger accounts.
• Administer timekeeping system and resolve employee timecard issues.
• Calculate and process special payments, such as bonuses and severance.
• Prepare and submit accurate payroll tax filings and year-end reports.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience processing multi-state payroll for 500+ employees, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paycom) and timekeeping systems.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations, particularly for manufacturing and shift work.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliation for payroll accounts and month-end close processes.
• Ability to interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements or complex internal pay rules.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
• Familiarity with union contracts and their impact on payroll
• Advanced Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables
