Salary Range: $72,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Allegan that are seeking skilled Design Engineers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops manufacturing fixtures, tools, and equipment.
• Creates detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for production.
• Collaborates with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Conducts design reviews and implements feedback to refine product designs.
• Performs engineering calculations and simulations to validate design integrity and performance.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation, including specifications and test procedures.
• Investigates and resolves design-related issues during production and assembly.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated experience with DFM/DFA principles and their application.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, machining).
• Experience with FEA simulations and analysis.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar data management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to perform FEA simulations and interpret results.
• Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles and their application.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing).
• Working knowledge of GD&T and its practical application.
