Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC programs for lathe operations using CAM software.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine machining processes and tooling.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for specific applications.
• Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and collision avoidance.
• Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machinists.
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues on the shop floor.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce cycle times.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience with CNC Lathe programming (G-code and M-code).
• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Esprit).
• Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, and fixture design for lathes.
• Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC lathes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., advanced toolpath optimization, simulation).
• Familiarity with quality control processes and equipment (e.g., CMM operation, statistical process control).
• Ability to perform minor machine maintenance or troubleshooting.
• Experience with 5-axis machining or multi-tasking machines.
• Knowledge of different material properties and their impact on machining strategies.
